CSG selected by Angola Telecom

CSG Selected for BSS Transformation at Angola Telecom.

CSG International (NASDAQ: CSGS) announced that CSG’s partner, Satec, will deploy the company’s award-winning Revenue Management solutions at Angola Telecom. The contract comes on the heels of the successful pilot deployment of CSG Interconnect for Angola Telecom’s wholesale operations. The integrated solution will include CSG Singleview® Convergent Rating & Billing, Singleview Customer Management, and Intermediate™, as well as the expansion of CSG Interconnect to include CSG Route and Financial Manager.

State-owned Angola Telecom is the incumbent operator for the country, offering voice and data fixed line services over ADSL, WiMax and Fiber. The transformation of the operator’s back office systems is part of an investment plan that includes the rollout of its next generation network (NGN), fiber optic and IP/MPLS backbone, LTE services as well as wireless in the local loop (WiLL) and copper wire-based last mile deployment, which nearly doubled the number of available lines, 90 percent of which are digital.

Satec, a multinational ITC integration company providing advanced technology solutions and services to improve productivity and business competitiveness, has won the contract to design and build Angola Telecom’s new information systems using CSG solutions to cover all BSS functionalities and provide a fully integrated best-of-breed BSS/OSS and ERP solution that will allow Angola Telecom to implement its business processes in a cost-efficient, flexible and scalable way.

“Our focus is to bring the best level of service to the people of Angola,” said João Martins, chief executive officer at Angola Telecom. “Satec with CSG will provide a complete and integrated solution that will enable us to manage our business for retail, enterprise and wholesale services, allowing us to grow, become profitable and deliver better services in an optimal manner to our customers.”

“The CSG-Satec partnership is committed to bringing transformative solutions and services to telecom providers across Africa,” said Satec managing director Teresa Taubmann. “We have embarked on a long-term relationship that combines our complementary competencies and deep domain expertise to rapidly deliver robust solutions and support for the new generation of telecom.”

Angola Telecom will benefit from the end-to-end revenue management and the rapid deployment afforded by Singleview, a TM Forum Frameworx-certified solution built upon the TM Forum’s suite of best practices and standards that provides the blueprint for effective, efficient business operations. The solution’s pre-configured processes minimize the level of effort and time-to-market, while providing the robust functions needed for managing and offering the latest voice, data and digital services. The addition of CSG Route and Financial Manager to Angola Telecom’s operations will further streamline and optimize wholesale processes and provide additional control and visibility for improving revenue and profitability.

“CSG is extremely pleased to be a part of the transformation of Angola Telecom and a strategic partner with Satec in the region. We are committed to providing the best solution, resources, and optimized models for dynamic, emerging markets around the world,” said George Fraser, vice president, CSG EMEA. “Our team of professionals established a strong level of trust during the pilot phase, and we look forward to a successful deployment of the full solution and growing our relationship with both Angola Telecom and Satec.”
