Etisalat Enlists Comptel’s FWD to introduce cliQ to Sri Lankan Mobile Subscribers

Comptel Corporation announced that Etisalat Sri Lanka has launched cliQ, its new offering designed to allow subscribers to purchase time-based mobile data packages by using Comptel’s FWD solution.

As many mobile subscribers are ill-equipped to buy data in expensive and hard to understand bundles based on megabytes and gigabytes, cliQ provides a flexible and transparent approach to purchasing mobile Internet connectivity. Through a native mobile application, users can easily and affordably purchase time-based Internet access, granting them full control and understanding of how they buy, pay and consume their personal digital services.

“With the launch of cliQ in Sri Lanka we are able to deliver customised mobile data packages to suit our industry demands and provide ease of mind to our ever increasing mobile data subscribers,” Director Marketing Etisalat Sri Lanka Yarthav Mathiaparanam stated. “By selecting Comptel’s FWD tool for the deployment of cliQ, we are now able to deliver affordable mobile connectivity to our customers in an innovative way that complements their lifestyle and needs,” he further noted.

FWD is a cloud-based solution that enables contextual, time-based data sales directly from end user devices. By transforming data packages into bite-sized chunks, FWD simplifies the data purchasing process, making it personal for consumers, while maximising operators’ data revenues and leveraging their trusted brands through its customised, white-labelled approach.

Through FWD’s management console, Etisalat can effectively create, price and target the data specifications in minutes, and monitor their performance in real-time. The solution also enables operators to make use of its innovative dynamic pricing capabilities, making it possible for them to differentiate the pricing, for example, between off-peak and peak hours.

“Comptel is proud to be working with Etisalat to help cliQ achieve success in the Sri Lankan market, which takes us another step forward towards fulfilling our mission to connect the next two billion mobile users to the Internet, one small data purchase at a time.” said Harry Järn, Chief FWD of Comptel FWD. “This is a very important step for FWD, as we continue our work to bridge the world’s digital divide by bringing information and access to people who have so far been unable to enjoy it.”

FWD continues to gain traction with forward-looking operators in various markets, following successful deployments by New Zealand mobile operator 2degrees; DNA, the leading provider of prepaid mobile subscriptions in Finland; Robi Axiata Ltd and Airtel, the fastest growing telecommunications operator in Bangladesh.
