How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

I just realised that a really serious oversight needed to be fixed. I hadn’t quoted Homer Simpson even once on this blog until today’s 125th entry.

There is so much to learn about OSS that existing ideas often get forgotten. To enhance the overall learning on your OSS, you also need a mechanism for users to store their knowledge for future reference by a broader user body.

Knowledge bases are powerful tools to store helpful information. They do require effort to maintain, but it’s usually worth the effort. If your existing products don’t have knowledge-base functionality, consider building your own wikiblog or other content sharing platform.
