Corporate Overview

In April 2025, Fujitsu announced plans to spin off its network‑related business—including Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc., along with Fujitsu Telecom Networks, Fujitsu Network Service Engineering, and Mobile Techno Corporation—into a new wholly owned subsidiary named 1FINITY

Fujitsu Network Communications is a leader in photonics. The company, a subsidiary of the Japanese electronics and computer systems giant Fujitsu, designs, manufactures, and maintains a variety of broadband transmission systems. It supplies Connection-Oriented Ethernet (COE) and optical transport equipment and network management software to telecommunications carriers and cable TV service providers. Products include multiplexers, switches, and transponders sold under the FLASHWAVE and NETSMART brands. From its plant near Dallas, Fujitsu Network Communications is the only major optical networking vendor to manufacture its own equipment in North America.

Fujitsu Network Communications was created in 1996 with the merger of Fujitsu America’s Transmission Division, which began operations in 1980, and Fujitsu Network Switching of America.
