Every operator needs to understand four key things about their data:

  • What data do they have and what does it tell them about the customer?
  • What further data can they reasonably collect and what is its value to the operator and to other players in the ecosystem?
  • What can the operator do with it from a regulatory point of view and from the expectations of privacy that its customers have?
  • What is the monetization strategy for this data?”

As an OSS vendor, you could equally ask these questions of how your analytics/OSS product/s help your customers (ie the operators or CSPs) to achieve great business outcomes.

As an OSS consultant, uncovering compelling answers to these questions will go a long way towards providing great value to your customers.
