“Every operator needs to understand four key things about their data:
- What data do they have and what does it tell them about the customer?
- What further data can they reasonably collect and what is its value to the operator and to other players in the ecosystem?
- What can the operator do with it from a regulatory point of view and from the expectations of privacy that its customers have?
- What is the monetization strategy for this data?”
These questions are not just relevant to operators.
As an OSS vendor, you could equally ask these questions of how your analytics/OSS product/s help your customers (ie the operators or CSPs) to achieve great business outcomes.
As an OSS consultant, uncovering compelling answers to these questions will go a long way towards providing great value to your customers.
