The interesting part about the second link is that Cisco is the stand-out omission from the ecosystem partners, even though they have cohabitation agreements with VMware in other areas. It will be fascinating to see how this plays out in coming months / years.
The big question is whether organisations end up with both variants in their networks and hence need a higher order management system (ie OSS) to manage the whole estate.
The big message with my consultant hat on is to spread the message for the C-Suite (ie CEO, CTO, etc) at CSPs to trial the different SDN / NFV variants in their labs and see what works for them.
