They say that first impressions are lasting. Apple knows this and invests greatly in their first impressions, their packaging. I’m no great devotee of Apple, but I was certainly wowed by the packaging of one of their products as I unwrapped it recently.
When releasing a new OSS to your users, what do you do to give them a magical first impression of your product? Or is it more commonly a case of finally handing over an OSS that’s over time, over budget and under-delivered like many OSS projects?
